‘The Wright Stuff’ Pain Free Births

I had to write about this one! A friend sent  me the link to a program called ‘The Wright Stuff’ which shows in the UK. They were debating the topic: Is there any such thing as a pain free birth?

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen reckons her eight-hour labour delivering son Benjamin didn’t hurt at all. I am surprised that people find this idea so ‘unbelievable’. Part of what we teach in the HypnoBirthing Course is that pain does not have to be a part of your birth. Painful childbirth is a product of our times, our culture, our history and our expectations.

Many women have experienced pain-free childbirth. Personally, I would honestly not describe my three labours (I used HypnoBirthing for them all) as ‘painful’. They were uncomfortable at times and I likened them to running a marathon. Labour wasn’t easy – but it was not the traumatic painful experience that many women I know speak of.

Anyway… back to ‘The Wright Stuff’. They talk about HypnoBirthing, and one of the women on the panel had actually used it for her second birth. She raves about it. Her first birth was very traumatic; her second (using HypnoBirthing, yoga and relaxation) was beautiful and she reckons she could have done it all again the next day. I agree with her wholeheartedly here. After my first birth, I literally turned to my husband 10 minutes after giving birth and said “When are we having our next baby?”!

Pregnant Women are more Hypnotisable!

Pregnancy gives women the added advantage of being more receptive to hypnosis!

Researchers from Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, Australia investigated whether there was a difference in hypnotisability between pregnant and non-pregnant women.

This study gives encouragement to women wondering whether they are receptive enough to hypnosis to benefit from the HypnoBirthing® program.

See this site for more details about the study…

Welcome to HypnoBirthing Australia!

Five years ago I was weeks away from having my first child and I was absolutely panicking! I knew that I didn’t want to use any drugs during the birth – but at the same time I was afraid that I would not have the strength and focus to cope with the pain of childbirth. That’s when I discovered HypnoBirthing – and thank goodness that I did. Not only did I have the beautiful, calm, natural birth that I had dreamt of … it actually wasn’t that painful at all!

I went on to have 2 more children using the same techniques. I can’t stress enough just what a huge difference HypnoBirthing makes to your entire birth experience. It is beautiful, calm, joyous, bonding and safe for mother and baby. Every time I gave birth, midwives in the hospital would come to my room and ask me ‘What is this HypnoBirthing? It was such a beautiful birth!’ – now I am sharing my knowlege and experience with others.

I have been certified by the Hypnobirthing® Institute in the United States of America, to teach Hypnobirthing® techniques to mothers and their birth companions. I am also a qualified and experienced teacher, write for Mother and Baby Magazine, belong to NACE (the National Association of Childbirth Educators), and have used this method successfully 3 times myself.

Classes are run on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay (Northern NSW) on a weekly basis. Please phone or email me for more information.

If you live elsewhere in Australia, I also run weekend ‘Babymoon’ Packages. This includes an intensive weekend course, 2 nights accommodation on the beautiful Gold Coast and a pamper package. What better way to connect as a couple and spend time totally focusing on your upcoming birth? See my website for more details.

It’s time for women to take back their power of the right to birth the way they want to, and this is absolutely possible with HypnoBirthing®.
